Inside Jennifer Aniston's mid

Jan 15, 2024Jan 15, 2024

The Friends actress has revived a kitchen classic in her Los Angeles home – and we can't get enough of its pared-back, minimalist style

With its sleek, pared-back style, it's easy to see why mid-century modern decor continues to impress designers – but a look inside Jennifer Aniston's kitchen suggests it's equally sought-after among the most recognized figures in Hollywood.

The Friends actress, also known for Murder Mystery and Just Go with It, shared a look inside her California kitchen – complete with handleless light wooden cabinets that bring a mid-century modern aesthetic to the otherwise contemporary space.

Using warm wooden hues, much like those in Jennifer's space, is one of the easiest ways to get the mid-century modern look – but going handleless only emphasizes this aesthetic further. These kitchen cabinets reinforce an authentically retro feel – creating a space that is as good-looking as it is hardworking and multifunctional. And, of course, designers are impressed.

'While the handleless look has been around for a while, the move over the last year towards minimalism and open plan living has been a big factor in its status as a major kitchen trend in renovations,' says expert Sinead Trainor.

'People want to create larger open living spaces where they can socialize, work, cook, and study without feeling restricted or confined to a cluttered room. Continuous, uninterrupted lines help to create this smooth transition between spaces and an open feel throughout.'

Sinead is the kitchen category manager at LochAnna Kitchens – a manufacturer that specializes in a range of styles (including handleless cabinets like Jennifer's.) They specialize in modern and European looks, working with the highest quality lacquered Italian painted timbers from the UK.

As Sinead explains, mid-century style kitchens are 'all about sleek, integrated and pared-back designs' – so their appeal is unsurprising.

'The uncluttered, handleless design doesn't pull focus from the cabinetry itself and adds a sense of openness to any room, from a grand open-plan living space to the smallest of kitchens,' she says. 'Ultimately, the handleless trend is about creating a space representative of your individual style, especially if you prefer continuous straight lines.'

So, whether we're working with small kitchens or larger spaces, likely like Jennifer Aniston's, these cabinets have their place. And, as the expert reminds us: 'Handleless cabinetry is truly here to stay.' However, inspiration from the actress's morning routine doesn't end there.

We're also drawn to her appliances – not least her coffee maker – which is another star of the show. We're shopping for her Terra Kaffe TK-01 Espresso Machine (and more) below.

1

The TK-01 Espresso Machine creates your morning (or afternoon!) beverage from whole-bean coffee, all with just the tap of a button without using single-use capsules. It makes perfect lattes and americanos or straight-up espressos for an extra quick hit.

2

This Nespresso milk frother is identical to Jennifer Aniston's – comprising a stainless steel pitcher and black plastic construction. It's perfect for making cold and hot froth – elevating your drink instantly.

Eagle-eyed fans may have also noticed this 1950s-style appliance on the other side of Jennifer Aniston's kitchen. It comes with a 'keep warm' function lasting up to 60 minutes after brewing, along with a newly added sound control function.
