When Taylor Vanderford heard his faucet turn on, he didn't think it was coming from outside.

"When water turns on, you hear it go through the walls, and it was about bedtime routine for the newborn," Vanderford said.

He then went to ask his wife if she had turned the water on.

"She didn't," Vanderford said. "I was like, 'OK that's kind of weird.' It was raining as well, so I was like, 'OK, it was a little bit of a downpour.'"

Even his Ring camera didn't catch who the community is calling the "wet bandit."

"It was on full blast," Vanderford said. "It was just going. I was like, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me.’"

The Edmond Police Department said they did identify the suspect, but they haven't released a police report. Only one person has said they want to file charges in the case, but police said they don't know what the charge would be yet.

"Thankfully, it didn't cause any damage to my house, but I’m sure some people will look at the flooded yards," Vanderford said.

The suspect was not yet in custody as of Thursday afternoon.
