May 21, 2023May 21, 2023

The kitchen sink is a catch all phrase in American vernacular meaning ‘everything’ because the kitchen sink tends to be where everything ends up. While you may not put a lot of thought into the type of faucet that tops your sink, it can give your kitchen a much-needed design boost with little effort. Let us have a look at the top five best kitchen faucets that will take your home to the next level.

Americans spend over 400 hours in the kitchen each year. A new survey asked 2,000 Americans about their families’ cooking habits and found the kitchen truly is the heart of the home, with family at the core of culinary joy. Currently spending an average of 67 minutes per day in their kitchens, 77 percent say they used to cook with their family at least once a week growing up, creating some of their favorite childhood memories. Nearly a third of respondents (31%) did so every single day. Just over one in three respondents fondly reflected on memories of eating meals together as a family (37%) and learning how to cook with their relatives (36%). Three in 10 even say going food shopping and cleaning up the kitchen are some of their best memories to look back on.

Since we spend so much time in the kitchen, it is now more important than ever to have a basic understanding of kitchen cleanliness and food safety. Millennials may have a flare for the dramatic when it comes to making dinner, but it turns out few actually know what they’re doing in the kitchen. A new survey finds young adults consider themselves to be the most "adventurous" cooks. Unfortunately, millennials also cook the fewest number of meals at home and overwhelmingly failed when researchers tested their knowledge about cooking and kitchen safety.

If you are among those that don't know what to do in the kitchen, we can help! Homeowners that are asking how to find the best looking and most functional sink accessories, never fear, we have rounded up 10 of our trusted sources to find out what the top five best kitchen faucets are for your home. Let us know your favorite fixtures in the comments below!

Coming in with a very strong number one entry is the Kohler Sous Pro-Style Faucet. Robb Report has this to say: "Modeled after faucets found in professional kitchens, features a powerful two-function spray head with an exposed-spring design that offers excellent flexibility and control. It is also made of stainless steel that's treated with scratch-shield technology, which means it can withstand a good beating."

The Spruce writes: "This type of faucet is known as a ‘pre-rinse faucet,’ because it features a high-arc spout with an exposed spring, making it durable and easy to use. In order to evaluate its installation and effectiveness, we tested this pull-down faucet in a real-life home setting. We found the installation process to be straightforward and simple—requiring just 20 minutes and a few tools. (Our product tester had no sink installation experience, and she didn't hit any snags with installing this faucet in her kitchen.) After a month of use, the professional-style kitchen faucet earned just short of a perfect score for its performance and function."

The distinctive look seems to be regarded as a polarizing feature with reviewers. Food & Wine writes, "Firstly, it's an extra tall faucet, so you won't have trouble cleaning large dishes like those tall stockpots. Secondly, it has that signature exposed spring design often seen in professional kitchens. There for more than just aesthetics, this design gives you lots of flexibility when moving the faucet up and down and side to side compared to other pull-down faucets that only adjust from the spray head. If you want to keep the head in place, there's also an arm with magnetic docking to keep it secure for regular faucet usage. Another fantastic feature of this faucet is the sweep spray mode, which turns the flow into a powerful wall of water that can handle tough, stuck-on debris on your plates and rinse down your sink faster. You can do one-, two-, three-, or four-hole installation with this faucet, meaning it’ll work in various kitchen set-ups. Some people love the industrial-looking design, and others may not, but at least you have four finishes to match your interior design."

Moen products are very well reviewed by consumers. According to Forbes, "Its gently curving shape offers nearly eight inches of reach and is available in five finish color options. It can be mounted in a single-hole or three-hole configuration with the included deck plate. The faucet has a 1.5-gpm maximum water flow rate assisted by Moen's power boost technology. A non-transferable lifetime warranty protects Moen faucets for the original purchaser. In other situations, a 60-month or 10-year warranty may apply."

Many of the faucets on our list push the idea that their product can last a lifetime. Moen as a brand certainly enjoys this perceived level of quality. Good Housekeeping explains, "Our experts know Moen as a kitchen and bath brand that makes quality products at value-driven prices. The Arbor single-handle faucet is a prime example. It has a clean, simple design that's neutral enough for any kitchen — this is not a showpiece faucet like some of our other picks. It's also feature-rich, including a pull-down sprayer with an extra-long hose and multi-spray functionality, including power boost for cleaning."

Adding to this same notion is Bob Vila.com with the following: "Moen is known for designing beautiful products that last a lifetime. The feature that sets the Moen Arbor faucet apart from its competitors is the Duralock Quick Connect Installation System, which makes this faucet easy to install. It also features a long hose—68 inches long and built with Reflex technology to flex, pivot, and stretch in all directions without getting tangled or damaged. The Arbor also controls the flow of water with its boost-stream function that offers a faster clean and faster fill with the push of a button. There are four finishes to choose from: chrome, stainless steel, matte black, and oil-rubbed bronze. The Arbor is similar in price to the Delta Leland, but it lacks the touchless option. We liked this Moen faucet's combination of quality and simplicity at a moderate price point. The parts felt substantial, and the pull-down hose is extra long. It was easy to install in our test sink. The 1.5-GPM flow feels somewhat weak, but the boost-stream button increases flow as needed. The one we installed operated manually, but the same style is available with touch or touchless capabilities."

Bio Bidet is a new brand as compared to some of the other listed faucets, but they have already made a mark in this very competitive field. Reviewed says, "The sprayer automatically turns on simply by undocking it, creating a quietly perfect workflow for cleaning dishes. The water pressure is incredibly powerful, and the spray feature is even more so. This was one of our top-performing faucets for tackling tough dishes. Unfortunately, this is also where we find the Flow's one weak point. The range of water pressures available felt limited. The faucet is basically either on or off. Trying to find a useful middle ground requires carefully manipulating the handle. In the end, this faucet's solid construction, reasonable price, and clever features put it on the top of the heap regardless."

Always ready with some of the most detailed reviews available, The Spruce writes, "Using a motion-activated sensor, these faucets give you the ability to start the flow of water without ever touching the faucet's handle. Busy bakers or cooks will appreciate using this feature to quickly and easily clean up without making a bigger mess on the faucet's handle. The FLOW Pull-Down Sprayer Faucet With Motion Sensor is our top pick for a touchless faucet, since it offers a balance of innovation and value. It doesn't include other bells and whistles (like voice control) found on some touchless kitchen faucets, but this FLOW faucet does include its fair share of user-friendly features and functions."

Food & Wine also rates this faucet highly with praise for the design: "This faucet's motion sensor lets you simply wave your hand to turn the water on and off. Not only can you avoid dirtying up the faucet with your food-covered fingers, but you also don't even have to extend a wrist or arm to get things flowing. The caveat is that the motion sensor is powered by four AA batteries, so just be prepared to have to go under the sink to replace them every so often. Going touchless is a game-changer, but you get more than that with this faucet. There's SmartLatch technology here, which means that when you pull down the faucet head, the water automatically starts, and when you put it back into place, it stops on its own. Like many other modern faucets, this one has spray, stream, and pause functions."

Delta offers a variety of faucets with excellent perceived value. Nearly all our sources listed a Delta Faucet as one of the best. Insider explains its features: "What sets the Delta Trinsic apart from other faucets is its Touch20 technology, which allows you to activate the water flow by touching your finger or forearm anywhere on the faucet. Landers recommends the feature for tasks like cutting raw chicken so you don't have to worry about contamination. Single-handle faucets eventually wear out and begin to leak, which is another reason why this Touch20 system is so valuable. By reducing the wear and tear on the handle, you extend the lifespan of the faucet. Plus, the water supply lines are built into the body of the faucet itself, which helps reduce the chances of leaks over time."

The Delta Trinsic Faucet could be a great fit for consumers that want smart home compatibility. "Although voice-activated faucets are more expensive than other styles, this Delta style is one of the best touchless faucets for your kitchen. Using Google Assistant or Alexa, you’ll be able to set custom commands for your faucet. You can activate this faucet manually, as touching it anywhere on the spout or handle will start or stop the water. There's also a handy LED Indicator that changes color based on the temperature of the water, so you don't need to be waiting by the sink to determine when the water is hot or cold enough for your needs. The long, 20-inch hose sprayer features a powerful magnet that keeps it docked in place and avoids drooping," mentions Better Homes & Gardens.

"If you already have smart, voice control technology in your home, the Delta Trinsic will fit right in. Featuring Delta's proprietary innovation, the Trinsic uses Delta VoiceIQ Technology to sync up your faucet with existing devices like smartphones and smart speakers enabled by Amazon's Alexa or Google Assistant. The smart home devices field your voice commands and relay them to your Trinsic. With a simple command, you can quickly turn the faucet on and off, warm water, and dispense one cup, six ounces, a gallon, or any other amount you could need. The faucet will dispense in ounces, cups, pints, quarts, gallons, liters, milliliters, and also monitors kitchen faucet water usage over time. The faucet operates with a simple touch anywhere on the spout or handle with your wrist or forearm. There's also a hand wash feature that provides the proper timing for lathering, scrubbing, and rinsing your hands," writes Bob Vila.com.

If affordability is the most important factor, then Wewe comes in on this list as a low-cost leader in the category. Bob Vila.com states, "The WEWE single-handle high-arc faucet features a sleek tulip-like design that will easily match most sinks. It gives users a three-way spray setting—stream for filling water, spray for rinsing, and pause to avoid splashing in multitasking mode. The pull-down hose and water line hose come preinstalled in the kitchen faucet for easy installation. It features a corrosion- and rust-resistant finish that hides smudges and prevents dirt from sticking to the surface. The WEWE High Arc faucet was extremely easy to install, partially due to the lack of electronic features. The lightweight metal construction feels less substantial than the others we tested, but at a quarter the price of the others, we felt like that was to be expected. The generous 1.8-GPM flow rate provides plenty of water for convenient cleaning and filling, and we experienced no drips or leaks."

Budget needs are a major factor in home improvement. When consumers seek out a reliable faucet at a lower price, they might find Wewe is a great selection. "Functionally, it is a single-handle, gooseneck-style faucet with a pull-down sprayer. Its simple, tulip design is nearly as elegant as any of the higher-end models on this list, with the only exception being that the spray setting buttons (stream, spray, pause) are visibly situated on the top of the sprayer nozzle, rather than hidden behind. Its cost savings largely have to do with its lighter-weight nature, but Wewe has a reputation for making quality, low-cost products. Users frequently noted its easy installation and nuanced temperature control functionality. With a generous 1.8 GPM stream, it's a powerful, value-driven option that will easily be able to handle your dish-washing needs without setting you back hundreds," according to CNET.

Reviewed also adds, "The construction of the handles, spigot, and sprayer are all solid, and the faucet is responsive and reliable. This was one of the best, most functional faucets of our early testing, and left a strong impression even without special features. We were so shocked to see a featureless faucet come out so high on the list that we re-installed it for a second round of testing. Our follow-ups and adjustments confirmed what our initial trials suggested: The Wewe really is among the cream of the crop, especially if you don't care about touchless features. Installation: Installation is a cinch. One thing many people don't realize is that their faucet sprayer pulls into place with the help of a big weight attached to the hose. The weight on the Wewe easily clipped onto the hose, which was far easier to install than the weights many other faucets required."
